You may also add the Recipes function/icon to the Workflow Toolbar by right-clicking on a parent node (e.g., Tapping in Air, Setup, Navigate...) and clicking Add View > Recipes, as shown in Figure 4.

Once Recipes has been added to the Workflow Toolbar, the recipes interface may be opened by clicking on Recipes under the list of Realtime views.

NOTE: You may also open the Recipes window by clicking Tools > Recipes.

The Recipe Realtime view, shown in Figure 5, features two primary windows:

The node hierarchy, shown on the left in the window above, displays all of the individual steps that the recipe will take. When run, the recipe will execute the steps of the recipe in a top-to-bottom sequential fashion in the order shown in the hierarchy. The individual details and parameters of a selected node are displayed on the right.

Parent/Child Node Relationships

A node that directly follows as a sub-step of another node is called a "child node" of a "parent node". Only certain types of nodes are available as "child nodes" of certain "parent nodes" in the hierarchy. See Allowed Parent and Child Nodes for a full list of allowable parent/child node relationships.

Professors

Some nodes have a Professor function available to help teach the parameters of the node quickly and efficiently.

Nodes may be cut, copied and pasted

Nodes that are copied and pasted take with them all of their child nodes. Thus a user can create a certain sub-hierarchy and the copy and paste it many times, significantly decreasing the time required to build large and complex recipes.

Nodes may be moved

Nodes may be moved from one position to another by dragging and dropping. A horizontal arrow will appear when two sibling nodes will exchange position with each other. A downward arrow will appear when a selected node is to become a child node of another node.

Menus

The File, Edit, Launch, and Help menus offer a range of commands for creating, saving, editing, and running recipes. See The Menu Bar for a list of menu bar functions.
